Shape Boosts Employee Wellbeing with Total Wellbeing Center

Since the opening of the onsite gym, the Fitness Factory, in 1993, wellbeing has been a central part of the company culture at Shape Corp. Over the last 30 years, the company has continued to prioritize employee wellbeing, and has recently taken its commitment to the next level with the opening of the Total Wellbeing Center.

This new center located on the company’s campus, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide team members and their families with access to a wide range of wellbeing services including:

  • Nurse Navigator
  • Virtual Care Services
  • Care Manager
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Success Coach
  • Dietitian
  • Onsite Gym

All services provided are free for team members and their families making it easier than ever for employees to prioritize their physical and mental health.

“At Shape, we want to make wellbeing the default because the health of our team members is inseparable from the health of our business” says Holly Severance, Shape health and wellbeing manager. “We are very excited to be able to offer these invaluable services to further promote our all-encompassing approach to health and wellness.”

In collaboration with Corewell Health and Priority Health, Shape is offering its nurse services with a mission to improve the quality of life for team members and their families. The goal is to connect employees to resources that meet their physical, mental, financial, social and community needs. By breaking down barriers for team members and referring them across services and programming, the company is providing high-quality care at the lowest possible cost and helping employees become educated in various aspects of healthcare. The ultimate goal is to create a healthy, high-performing workforce where wellbeing is woven into the cultural fabric of the company.

The Total Wellbeing Center has already seen success in helping employees manage their health. For example, a team member came in with a blood pressure that was at stroke level during a check and was immediately sent to a local emergency room for care. Since then, the team member has received weekly blood pressure checks and has established a preventative care plan that includes exercise and diet. As a result of these changes, the individual’s blood pressure has dropped significantly. Additionally, the nurse navigator was able to designate a primary care provider to receive their monthly medication at a significant price reduction.

By prioritizing employee wellbeing, Shape is creating a work environment where employees feel supported in their pursuit of a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The Total Wellbeing Center is just one example of the company’s commitment to its employees and their families.
